The 1st Trail of "Int'l Reader @WH" Successfully Held

On the afternoon of May 23, the first session of "Int’l Reader @WH" organized by HUSTP and the school of International Education of HUST -- "520 Say Loud of Love", was officially kicked off in HUSTP. Ruan Haihong, president of HUSTP delivered an opening speech, and seven international readers together with over 30 international students as audience from 13 countries along "the Belt and Road" attended this colourful and brilliant activity that will facilitate the international communication. The session was started by a warm welcome speech from president Ruan Haihong, in which he extended the sincere gratitude to the School of International Education of HUST for their support. He mentioned that HUSTP was committed to promoting international cultural communication, and hoped international students could be the cultural ambassadors in this platform which was specially built to enhance the communication between Chinese and foreign cultures against the background of "the Belt and Road". In this way, increased interaction and deepened cooperation will be achieved between China and other countries. Then the first session of "Int’l Reader @WH" officially began, and seven representatives from different countries joined the reading activity in a sincere and moving manner, under the theme of "520 Read Aloud to Your Loved One". The gifted readers carried their listeners along with their wonderful recitation: Roma from Pakistan, read the poem written by herself to her passed mother; Manni from Myanmar, read the poem titled as The Furthest Distance in the World written by Tagore in Chinese. After the reading part, with a view to further strengthening the understanding of international students to Chinese traditional culture, the "Listening Duanwu Stories, Learning DIY Zongzi" culture experiencing program is delicately designed for international students, and all the guests enjoyed the smooth music and infectious recitation in this activity. HUSTP takes "Transcend the Traditional Publication, Influence the Future Culture" as a principle and positively launches international strategy to promote international cultural communication. This "Int’l Reader @WH" cultural communication platform cooperated with the School of International Education of HUST to help international students integrate into the Belt and Road cultural construction strategy, connecting "China Dream" with "World Dream "through "the Belt and Road" strategic construction. Both sides will build the first international reading brand in Wuhan followed by a series of themed reading activities.
